The One about Yves Saint Laurent L’Homme

lhomme

For men looking for a summer fragrance that smells wonderful, you can’t go wrong with Yves Saint Laurent’s “L’Homme” Eau de Toilette.

The fragrance debuted back in 2006 and was created by Anne Flipo (and has since went on to co-create “L’Homme Sport and “Manifesto Le Parfum”), Pierre Wargnye (known also for creating “Davidoff Cool Water Game” and “Diesel Only the Brave”) and Dominique Ropion (who went on to co-create “Issey Miyake Nuit d’Issey”, “Paco Rabanne Olympea”, “Burberrty Brit Rhythm”).  And has been a yearly best seller for the company.

The base notes consist of Bergamot, Cedar, Ozonic Notes, White Ginger, Basil Flower, White Pepper, Violet Leaves, Cedarwood, Haiti Vetiver and Tonka Bean.

Upon the initial spray, you can smell the bergamot and ozonic notes, then it changes to violet leaves and finally Cedarwood and Tonka beans.

While Yves Saint Laurent’s “L’Homme” is a sensual and wonderful summer scent it’s a unique scent that doesn’t go the citrus route.

I really do love the fragrance but it’s not for those who are expecting longevity.

In fact, I recommend a spritz in the morning, a spritz right before or after lunch time as the longest you will probably have this scent working for you is about 2-3 hours long.

Otherwise, going out for the night for a few hours or have a short date? Then this Eau de Toilette is perfect!
