When it comes to leather, while COACH is my go to store most of the time, I also enjoy visiting Wilsons Leather.
A store to find awesome deals on leather bags and leather jackets (and other products), its definitely worth visiting Wilsons Leather for its large variety of offerings.
For those not familiar with Wilsons Leather, the retailer was founded in 1988 but its origin goes back as far as 1899. The company began as two separate leather apparel manufacturer-retailers: Berkman Buckskin, founded in 1899 and known for its fringed buckskin shirts and jackets and Wilsons House of Suede, founded in the late 1940s and known for its affordable suede and leather apparel.
In 2008, the company was sold to the AM Retail Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of the G-III Apparel Group and while its online store remains, only their outlet stores remain open.
But it’s the best leather place to visit for affordable leather bags and jackets and one should often visit the store for deals galore.
While I have quite a few leather briefs, I wanted something in cognac, one that is durable that will need to be able to handle the elements but I also wanted one that could carry a laptop or my huge 17″ tablet during trips, can carry documents and has many pockets to keep my business cards and cords.
So, sure enough…I opted for the Wilsons Leather Vintage Triple Gusset Leather Brief.
The brief features:

But this is a bag for those who want space and I needed as much space as possible, but not too big that it would look like a weekender bag. So, the triple gusset is a big deal for me
The stitching is really well done for this bag. I can see ruggedness of the bag and I have no fears of banging it around or laying it on the ground (something that I worry a lot about my COACH bags) but another big deal for me is that it is zippered and not magnetic. I like magnetic only if the flaps are big enough and you can lock them in some way with some type of lock. But too many are released without it and I will pass those bags over, no matter how good they look. But if I can, I need my stuff to be sealed, to be locked and nothing falls out of it. And so, this is another plus about this bag!
Last, I like my bags to have the option of being held via the handles or a long strap with with a cushion on the strap, so my shoulders won’t hurt. Another plus about this bag!
Overall, if you are looking for a genuine leather brief that provides room and space, may it be for professional use or for travel, I highly recommend the Wilson’s Leather Vintage Triple Gusset Leather Brief!
