“CHRISTMAS HILLS 2025” will include Roppongi Hills, Azabudai Hills, Toranomon Hills, Omotesando Hills, ARK Hills will come together to celebrate Christmas.

A Christmas tree with sparkling prisms and dancing rings of light has arrived
This year’s Christmas tree will be designed by EMISSION, an art studio led by Takahiro Matsuo, a light artist who has received high praise both in Japan and overseas for his unique installations and spatial art using light and technology.
Approximately 1,000 prism elements decorate the space
This tree will be EMISSION’s first Christmas tree and will be approximately 10 meters tall, making it one of the largest prism art pieces they specialize in. It is made using Prism Ray®, an optical polycarbonate material they developed themselves, and the polyhedrons and light made up of approximately 1,000 prism elements will refract and reflect, illuminating the entire space with prismatic light.
Introducing the much talked about production system at the Osaka Kansai Expo
The ring surrounding the tree features Matsuo’s original spatial art device, Kinetic Light Vision (KLV). 48 spheres move in sync with the music, creating a ring of light, uniting with the Prism Tree to create a new light experience. KLV was first unveiled at the Shiga Prefecture booth in the Kansai Pavilion at the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo, where it attracted much attention, winning the Gold Award in the Entertainment Space category at the Japan Space Design Awards 2025. This experience, previously only available to select visitors, can now be enjoyed at OMOTESANDO HILLS.
Special light and sound performance every 20 minutes
Under normal circumstances, the tree itself is lit in pure white, emitting a sophisticated, luxurious glow like a crystal of light. During a special performance every 20 minutes, the lighting changes to colorful colors, and the “rings of light” dance in sync with the music, creating an artistic performance. The music was created by sound designer Setsuya Kurotaki, and the cutting-edge performance, while also conveying a sense of happiness and warmth, will provide visitors with an exciting experience.
■Event duration: A special sound and light performance (approximately 2 minutes) will be held every 20 minutes.

At Central Walk and Tower Plaza, which run underground through the city of Azabudai Hills, an exhibition of “Kururiko,” a small character that seems to have come straight out of this year’s key visual, will be held.
