The One about “Love is All Around: Echoes of Yesterday” (Jiang Yu path)

The One about “Love is All Around: Echoes of Yesterday” (Jiang Yu path)

Just when you felt that “Love is All Around” and it’s DLC “Love is All Around – Love in the Room” set the bar high for Asian FMV’s, then came the release of “Love is All Around: Echoes of Yesterday”.

I know, shouldn’t this one be called “Love is All Around 2” (which goes to the recently released 2025 game) but “Love is All Around: Echoes of Yesterday” is the prequel. This is when Gu Yi was a college student.

Who will you pick?

The mischievous wealthy, Xiao Qingqing (portrayed by Liu Ange)

The flight attendant who just got out of a bad relationship, Gao Wanqiu (portrayed by Dai Qixuan)

The manager/owner of a grocery store near campus, Wei Zhiyao (portrayed by En Jing)

The innocent classmate and hardcore gamer, Yuan Qi (portrayed by Chen Yuling)

The girl from high school, Ji Yanyu (portrayed by Zhong Ting)

or would you want to hang out with your buddy high school buddy, Liu (like the previous two games)

There was no doubt that production was taken up a notch and there is so much to discover in this game compared to the previous games. In fact, I have to say that getting 100% was much more challenging than what I would have thought.

But still, this is a wonderful game! Similar to what I have said before, each time I went for the one I wanted to be with, I got drawn in to the storyline of the others.

There is no doubt that there was a bit more attention to Yuan Qi’s character but for the most part, this was a fun game throughout. You even have a little rhythm-based game included.

But the overall storyline is fantastic and reinforces my feelings that the “Love is All Around” games are the top tier games that set the bar high, that many Asian FMV’s do not reach (there are a few that come close though).

But you can’t go wrong with “Love is All Around”, the DLC and the Prequel (and now, with the latest “Love is All Around 2”).

I do have a word of warning, some areas to get 100% is getting to a storyline of opening an ending where Gu Yi really makes bad decisions. Usually working hard to get that extra ending, you get something special. But in this case, it’s more like the worst case scenario after you get the best ending.

Needless to say, I absolute loved this game and the other games and I highly recommend it!
