For my latest watch review, I take a look at the MF MINI FOCUS Chronograph Quartz Business Men’s Watch (MF0470G.03) which was released in October 2024 and is available in multi-colors.
I am not familiar with the company MINI FOCUS, but I do know the company is a Chinese brand who is known for many watches with silicon straps. But they do make steel bands and the version I am reviewing features an all-black metal band and a tank that feels like it’s built like a tank. Heavy and feels like it can definitely take the impact of a drop (although I’m not going to test that theory).
The watch comes with a tool and came in slightly wide, so had to use a tool to remove a few sections from the band. I do recommend have a watch tool kit, mainly for the hammer, so you can hammer out those pins from the band easily.
The watch comes in a variety of colors, but I went for the black band with a rose gold case.
The watch is Quartz movement considering this is a $30-range watch and features a bigger 44.5 mm case diameter.
The watch is 30M (100 feet) water resistant but my feeling as a watch collector and owner is one should never wear a wristwatch underwater or showering. Especially for a cheaper watch which probably may end up in fogging.
The watch is luminous but I had to use my UV flash light to charge the luminosity.
The watch chronograph features the hours on the right, the minutes subdial on the left and the seconds subdial on the bottom center. Click on start/stop on the top and the bottom to reset. The crown is easy with pulling it all out will allow to adjust the time, while the second (middle) would be to adjust the date ala calendar window.
Now my thoughts on this watch. It’s a beautiful watch no doubt. I think many men would receive compliments of this watch because of its luxurious look. It’s no doubt a watch that can compliment’s one fashion.
Granted, it’s not going to impress any watch erudite but most watch erudites look to more expensive watches.
This is probably one of the coolest $30 range watches you can buy in terms of look and feel and durability (and heaviness). With that being said, it is a Quartz watch and how long the battery will last, you may get a year.
So, if you notice the time being off, you may want to get a screwdriver (flathead) and prop up the back cover (there are no notches on the rear of the watch, so a smaller flathead will do) or visit your local repair shop.
Last but not least, you may be wondering if it’s worth purchasing MF MINI FOCUS Chronograph Quartz Business Men’s Watch (MF0470G.03) Watch? If you like the look, then go for it. If you don’t mind Quartz movements, go for it. It’s no doubt one of the cheaper alternatives to obtain a moonphase (sun and moon) watch and you can get it in a variety of colors that suits your taste and it’s in the $30 range, so you’re not going to put a dent in your wallet.
Don’t expect anything huge, it’s a $30 range watch overall!
While I can’t tell you if it will last five years or ten years, I will say that for the last few days I have worn it, time has been good on its original battery so far. And whether or not you get what you pay for, who knows how long this watch will truly last? But like any watch, you take care of it, they can last you a long time.
But the MF MINI FOCUS Chronograph Quartz Business Men’s Watch (MF0470G.03) watch feels like it’s built like a tank, and if you like bigger watches, slightly heavy, then definitely give this watch a chance!
