40,000 lenses interwoven”Christmas Tree of Lights”
An 8.4m-tall Christmas tree made of 40,000 lenses will be installed on the atrium staircase in the main building. The lenses, each one carefully assembled by hand, create a spiral that beautifully decorates the atrium space like a light object.
The design was created by architect Okitsu Yuji, who has received numerous design awards both in Japan and abroad. The lenses, which have a compound appearance like a kaleidoscope, represent the diversity of people passing by on Omotesando, and the double structure of intersecting spirals and rings was inspired by the spiral slope inside Omotesando Hills, expressing the cross-culture that originates from Omotesando.
Enjoy the reflections of light created by the lenses.
