For today’s review, I am checking out the Redragon Cyrus Pro K681 75% Gasket Mounted Wireless Mechanical Keyboard. This keyboard has a total of 81-keys.
I have been quite positive when it comes to Redragon mechanical keyboards and I have seen this company evolve from 2019 to present. Seeing how they went from straight-up budget keyboards but now going mid-price to high-price but release mechanical keyboards with similar feature to others but at a much cheaper price point.
Today, I take a look at the company’s latest gasket mounted, tri-mode (Bluetooth 3.0 & 5.0, 2.4Ghz and wired and comes with a 4000 mAh battery), hot swappable keyboard.
So, what does the Cyrus Pro offer and what makes it different from other Redragon products?
For the most part, this mechanical keyboard offers functions that are now becoming standard to the mid to high price mechanical keyboards and that is it being tri-mode (Bluetooth, wired, 2.4G), having gasket-mounted to keep things quiet and it being hot swappable.
If anything, these three have become standard in 2024 that it’s not a surprise for mechanical keyboards to have these features as they did when they were released in 2022-2023.
In addition, if you don’t dig the switches or keycaps, you can change them out.
As for the gasket mounting, there are around six layers of protection between the switch/keycaps and the bottom case. The amount of PORON cotton, IXPE Shaft Underpad, EVA base pad silence shaft seat cotton, PET voice acting pad and more.
The mechanical keyboard also features 15 different lighting modes (all controlled via the FN key + another button such as Enter, arrow keys and space bar), 7 solid colors, 5 brightness levels, breathing speed and a multi-functional knob.
But what makes this keyboard standout against its competitors and other REDRAGON Mechanical Keyboards?
Well, one thing I noticed immediately is that it features MDA-profile keycaps, for those who prefer a better tactile experience. So, the keycaps are a bit more rounded. Also, features PCBA Singkle Key Slotting.
Another thing that this minty keyboard also offers is the company’s pre-lubricated Dragon Growl Switch. This switch is an updated red switch that provides quieter and faster keyback, but I must say that this is not as quiet as a red switch, as the switch gives a more deeper thocky sound and the sound is comparable to browns.
Overall, the Redragon Cyrus Pro K681 75% Gasket Mounted Wireless Mechanical Keyboard is another solid quality keyboard, but no doubt this is a mechanical keyboard that people who prefer the MDA keycaps and a keyboard that gives a thocky sound.
