Today I am checking out a mechanical keyboard from LTC Nimbleback with the LTC Nimbleback NB841 PRO 75% Wireless Mechanical Keyboard.
LTC is a company known for making cost-effectie mechanical keyboards with accessible prices to the gaming community.
Today I am checking out the LTC Numbleback NB841 mechanical keyboard which is trimode (Bluetooth, 2.4Ghz wireless and wired) and is hot swappable and has a cool LCD screen, making it one of the company’s more higher-priced keyboards at around $80.
The mechanical keyboard is offered in shades of blue with white or green with shades of green. I went with the latter as I don’t have many green keyboards, nor do you see them that often.
You get a USB Type-C cable, four extra switches and a keycap puller.
Now there are a few things that the LTC Nimbleback NB841 offers. One that it features a digital screen (which is becoming the trend for the second half of 2024), comes with three layers of thick silicone damper for noise reduction (which makes this mechanical keyboard heavy) and you get the convenient knob on the upper right.
It has 22 modes of RGB lighting modes and features double-shot PBT keycaps, well-tuned stabilizers, 2-stage adjustable feet.
As for the knob, by itself it controls volume. But hit the FN button and the knob and you will be able to access lighting modes and more.
When you go to the website, the software is online, not downloadable. So, while you can customize your keys and can customize your LED lights and sync the LED screen to have the right time, I was unable to log in as I keep receiving a session error. Tried a different browser, tried a different password to no avail.
So, I wasn’t able to see if there were uploaded animated .gifs for the screen but I was able to customize other things that didn’t require registering.
I also tried the NB1041P software, but when the Royuan_Tool was installed, I wasn’t able to access anything it via Windows 11 24H2.
For the most part, this is a very well-designed mechanical keyboard. Having utilized this keyboard and seeing how well and how smooth things are is a major plus. The fact that it’s built like a tank is a major plus and I like the fact that it’s offered in two different colors, especially in this color of green that you usually don’t see with mechanical keyboards.
The added function of having a mechanical keyboard with an LCD screen is great, but LTC needs to figure out why the logging into the site doesn’t work. But fortunately, you can still customize the mechanical keyboard’s macro settings and LED lighting via the online software.
Overall, it’s a wise entry for LTC to release the Nimbleback as other mechanical keyboard companies are also jumping in the LCD mini displays (Some who do a better job than others and others who have more community support). Also, good for LTC to stay with its course of making things affordable at $80 for this style of mechanical keyboard.
Overall, I do give the LTC Nimbleback NB841 PRO 75% Wireless Mechanical Keyboard (Forest Green) a thumbs up but due to the lack of able to log into to customize the LCD screen on the online software or download anything at this time to customize it was a bit frustrating and I’ll give the keyboard four stars for now.
