The One about the CORBOBO x AULA F98X Wireless Gaming Keyboard

Today I am reviewing the CORBOBO x AULA F98X Wireless Gaming Keyboard.

Corbobo is a company that sells its own mechanical keyboards, but what’s interesting is the collaboration with one of the top tier mechanical keyboard brands from Asia, AULA.

AULA has pretty much since re-positioned its brand of not just making affordable mechanical keyboards but making darn awesome keyboards in general.

So, what makes this specific mechanical keyboard different from other keyboards?

For the F98X, there are two things that are driving this gaming keyboard.

One, that it utilizes customizable Hall Effect Magnetic Switches. These AULA magnetic switches result in greater durability, longer lifespan and faster response times. The other thing that the F98X offers is continuous rapid trigger and dynamic keystroke (DKS). So, shaking the finger during a keypress will lead to achieve continuous triggering which would be great for those who use their keyboards for gaming.

The mechanical keyboard comes standard with being hot swappable, tri-mode (Bluetooth 5.0, 2.4Ghz wireless and USB-C wired), unfortunately AULA doesn’t make the driver to program the keyboard easier, but you can download the driver here.  So, this is useful if you need to remap your keyboard and also control the RGB backlights.  There is also 12 types of RGB Music Rhythm Macro Recording as well.

The F98X has a 4000mAh battery and the keycaps are PBT doubleshot keycaps.

I will say that this mechanical keyboard is heavy, but that is thanks to its top mount structure with a full internal filling solution.

But overall, the biggest selling point of this gaming keyboard is the fact that it utilizes adjustable magnetic switches that have rapid trigger and hall effect, which is starting to grow in popularity.  Hall effect keyboards detects keystrokes using magnetic sensing technology vs. the mechanical switches that most people tend to use.

They are also known for smoother typing experiences and quicker reaction times and I can tell you right now, I have to say the experience is smooth and each keypress, I really do like!  But that is for me and my rapid typing fingers, where Hall Effect switches will come to play is gaming.  Because these magnetic switches register keypresses faster, so “rapid trigger” resets a switch as soon as one let’s go of the key.  It’s very technical but for gamers, this is prime for those who want the best in responsiveness. The future is here and hall effect keyboards are definitely the best for input latency and input accuracy.

While I don’t see mechanical keyboards going bye-bye anytime soon, I do feel that we are going to see Hall Effect magnetic switch keyboards will slowly become more prominent as we finish off 2024 and go into 2025.  This is great news for gamers and I have to say, the CORBOBO x AULA F98X Wireless Gaming Keyboard may look a bit basic but the responsiveness of this keyboard is fantastic!
