I am reviewing the Heayzoki Stick, PC Gaming Controller USB Wired Game Joystick.
The joystick is USB based but comes with an adapter to connect to USB-C devices as well. Features eight buttons and additional buttons on top for home, turbo and more. In the rear of the joystick one can find the cable but also find the joystick which is easy to attach to the base of the device, along with a ball and circular cover and it also comes with a tool wrench.
I have tested the joystick on fighting games and shmups and it worked perfectly on the Nintendo Switch.
It’s important to note that for Switch, the other joycons must disabled first and then it will detect this joystick as a primary. As for PC, on STEAM, my computer was looking for a Microsoft XBOX controller and was trying to tweak with STEAM controller options but I wasn’t able to get it working. But it’s important to note that I didn’t spend a whole lot of time testing on STEAM, primarily on the Nintendo Switch.
If there was one thing that I wished it had, it was more space under the buttons for one to rest their hands on. But a lot of smaller form factor joysticks are heading this direction to go for more compact and being more lightweight.
I noticed no delays or any problems while using this joystick and it’s actually very well made.
But now I want to take the time to address certain concerns by other reviewers about this device.
One was the size of the joystick. It’s about six inches in width, 2 inches in height and diameter about 4 inches.
I have been reviewing joysticks since the early 2000s and back then, you would get these hefty joysticks that were huge. They still make them for tournament competitions but they are now near the $200 range (higher end uses well-known Japanese-brand buttons and joystick).
As you can see, these joysticks are under $60.
These are smaller (smaller form factor) and a lot of the joysticks being released, may they be the one with a joystick but they are now making them almost like keyboards or just buttons without a joystick. It’s the sign of the times now where these are becoming common as they are priced cheaper for those who are not interested in tournament grade fightstick/joysticks.
One shouldn’t feel deceived because the size is listed below for the package dimensions. You know if the package dimensions are that big, product dimension would be smaller. And also listed and 1 pound, while tournament grade joysticks can go up to 8 pounds.
The Heayzoki Stick, PC Gaming Controller USB Wired Game Joystick is a smaller form factor fightstick/joystick and is appropriately priced under $60. It’s compact, lightweight and portable and its well-made. But will it last overtime not sure?
But the question lies, if you are going to pay this much, there are now a plethora of choices from keyboard button based joysticks, no joystick but button only and more. It’s a competitive industry and while I can easily say that I feel this device worked well, I do know there are many other choices out which will work best for your style of gaming.
The Heayzoki Stick, PC Gaming Controller USB Wired Game Joystick may not have the big brand name and well-known buttons or joystick as its competitor but it’s a good joystick, probably needs to be priced a little lower but for the most part, it works well.
