The One about the Voxitenus Portable MP3 Player with Bluetooth, 128GB TF Card and FHD 720P Digital Camera (2024)

As a techie, I like to see how things developed with MP3 devices. It’s interesting for me because my first published tech articles were on the Diamond Rio and the first Apple iPod.

But here we are in 2024, MP3 players are still being made, but what advantages do today’s MP3 players have and how has technology gotten better since then for MP3 players?

Well, for one, these new MP3 players have become all in one devices and are outfitted with mini-SD, TF cards or built-in memory. The one I am reviewing can store hundreds, maybe thousands of songs.

Granted, MP3 quality has since gotten better and more people prefer higher quality, chunky sized MP3’s. Back then, space was a major consideration and to store more songs, you encode MP3’s in lower quality. Otherwise you were stuck with a dozen or so tracks. These days, hundreds, thousands depending on your MP3 file size and with 128 GB that’s a lot of storage for music.

Another thing that makes it convenient is that this device uses a USB-C and takes standard Aux input headphones. Remove the headphones and it plays through the devices tinny small speakers. Not the greatest sound, but connect it to a Bluetooth speaker and then it shows the capabilities of this small device.

The shortcuts on the screen is touch-based, so you can select ebook, camera (yes it comes with an FHD 720P Camera, video function, audio recorder, calendar, radio, calculator, clock, alarm and more.

Of course, today’s portable MP3 players are way better than the ones in the past, but is it perfect? Not really. Because you have large storage, try selecting to list songs by album or artists and this is where the device shows its weakness. If you have hundreds or thousands of songs, it will take a long time just to load up the titles, so in a way, I just select play all music and it will play right away.

Looking for a song? If you have too many songs on your device, its going to take forever to display and I would rather just hold power button down until it does a full shut off.

But in a way, that’s the caveat of the device, because for the most part, technology has advanced forward in today’s portable MP3 players but with larger storage, these devices are not fit with a lot of memory to quickly go through your listings. While large storage is great, filling it up may not be a sound idea.

But overall, I do like the Voxitenus Portable MP3 Player with Bluetooth, 128GB TF Card and FHD 720P Digital Camera (2024). It’s inexpensive for one. It’s compact with its two inch screen which is touch screen. It also has a ton of features and a lot of storage. But with larger storage means the ability to store more music and the device has only so much memory to load it all in a timely fashion.

Is it worth it? Yes. But do know the limitations of the device if you intend to put a lot of music in the storage and are hoping to find an album or artist quickly. Otherwise, that slow loading interface for music listings may be a deal breaker for some.
