What do you do when you have creative ideas and pen and paper is not going to serve you well. Especially if you are a singer/songwriter and composer and need something on the fly? I recommend having a digital voice recorder.
For today’s review, I am reviewing the Digital Voice Recorder – Mini 64GB MP3 Voice Recorder with 7 Grades Adjustable Recording sensitivity from aiuouog. A clip based digital voice recorder that one can keep on their car keys or lanyard. It makes it very easy and it also comes with USB headphones, if you want to listen to playback and also a charging cable but also a cable in which you can transfer the information recorded to your computer.
The device supports WAV and WMA and is equipped with upgraded noise-canceling mic and a recording chip with 360 degree all round pickup. It also has 64GB capacity that can store up to 800 hours of recording files. And the device comes with a triple digital intelligent noise reduction technology and reduces 90% of ambient noise.
For the most part, it did work as intended. The closer the thing is nearest to whoever is speaking will benefit, especially if you have lanyard or so.
It comes with a 130 mAh lithium battery for charging and has a long continuous recording (With breakpoint save) and records while charging as well. The device also supports recording encryption.
But it is so easy to use, just turn the recorder on and it starts recording. There is an M Key to change up to 7 grades of adjustable recording sensitivity.
But pretty much I wanted a no fuss recorder. I just turn it on and let it go and if I need to turn it off, I can.
But I do recommend going through the text file in order to configure options such as mic gain and voice activation sensitivity level. I do recommended increasing the mic gain.
Now what don’t I like about it? Well, a lot of these voice recorders use a USB-C connection, this one unfortunately uses an old school Micro USB port. Granted, it’s not a deal breaker as those who have older phones or devices may have extra connectors they have saved.
With that being said, will these smaller voice recorders make the older stereo handheld audio recorders obsolete. Definitely not, as those handheld audio recorders offer simpler ways to access menus.
For these smaller voice recorders, it’s important to make sure you don’t lose the instructions otherwise, you can end up not taking advantage of what it has to offer. It’s not the most user friendly but it does work.
Overall, I do recommend it and while half the price of a handheld audio recorder at under $40, I will say that its easy to clip on feature makes it appealing to own, especially if you intend to keep it on your keychain or lanyard.
