Chloe has always supported various military organizations, including the town’s Army toy drive for Christmas. This year, she is paired up with Michael, a vet who recently returned home, and together they recruit other veterans and active military personnel to help in the cause. As the community gears up for the Officer’s Christmas Ball, where all the kids will meet Santa Claus and receive their gifts, Michael and Chloe begin to realize the greatest gift this season has been each other’s company.

It’s day 30 and for today, I am watching “A Welcome Home Christmas” directed by Brian Herzlinger (“My Date with Drew”, “Twinkle all the Way”) and written by T. Booker James (Love on Fire”, “Feeling Butterflies”.

The holiday telefilm stars country singer and actress Jana Kramer (“One Tree Hill”, “Friday Night Lights”, “Entourage”), Brandon Quinn (“Sweet Magnolioas”, “The Fosters”, “Rebel”, “Big Wolf on Campus”), Charlene Tilton (“Dallas”, “The Middle”), Tim Reid (“WKRP in Cincinatti”, “Sister, Sister”, “Simon & Simon”), Rose Reid (“Finding You”, “Surprised by Oxford”), LondonRose Sellars (“Ruthless”, “The Oval”) and more.

The film revolves around former military Chloe Marquee (portrayed by Jana Kramer) who is very active in supporting various military organizations and the Army toy drive for Christmas.  The problem is she tends to take on way too much than she should.  And one of the challenges that she will face is a toy drive but the military has no funding to run the drive, so now she must raise funds for the event.

One of the major things she does is helping veterans transition to normal life and one veteran who recently returned home is Michael Fischer (portrayed by Brandon Quinn).  And when Chloe sees that Michael played a part in doing toy drives when he was overseas, she cajoles him to join her and volunteer in the toy drive.

But as she works and spends a lot of time with Michael, her mother Lynn (portrayed by Charlene Tilton) and sister Trish Barnes (portrayed by Rose Reid) wonder if Chloe is falling for Michael?

For the most part, I have found holiday films starring Jana Kramer to be really well made.  And to my surprise, having watched this last year, I was surprised I didn’t include it on last year’s list.  So, I went ahead and watched it again and enjoy it.

I think the character’s had a lot of onscreen chemistry but also if you grew up during the ’80s, seeing classic TV stars as Charlene Tilton and Tim Reid on this special was also a blast.  Sometimes Lifetime holiday films does this by bringing back classic stars and this one of those films.  Loved that!

Also, I loved the whole Christmas atmosphere, along with the characters and storyline. I highly recommend “A Welcome Home Christmas”!
