A woman needs a miracle in order to save her family’s farm and her father’s legacy in time for a happy Christmas.

For day 29, I am watching “CHRISTMAS A LA MODE”, a film directed by John Stimpson and co-written by Stimpson and Geoffrey Taylor.

The holiday telefilm stars Katie Leclerc (“Veronica Mars”, “Switched at Birth”), Ryan Cooper (“Eye Candy”, “And Just Like That…”), Jennifer Ellis, Kathy Harum (“Patriot’s Day”, “The Company Men”), Caroline Keeler, Tom Kemp (“Manchester by the Sea”, “Sound of Metal”) and more.

The film revolves around Emily White (portrayed by Katie Leclerc) who is running the family dairy farm since her father had passed.  Unfortunately, the farm is behind on bills and in major debt.

Emily hasn’t told her motherthat they are in bad shape but she believes she can try to save the farm.

But when her sister Dorothy (portrayed by Jennifer Ellis) and a person who has come to inspect the farm to sell it, Charlie Blanchard (portrayed by Ryan Cooper) come to the farm, Emily is very upset that her sister wants to sell the farm.

And Dorothy knows the only way to prevent the sale from happening is if she buys out her sister’s half of the farm, but how can she raise the money to purchase the farm?  Especially as she has only the month of December to try to earn almost $400,000.  Will she be able to do it?

I have to admit that watching “CHRISTMAS A LA MODE”, it was a dramatic holiday telefilm because poor Emily is literally going through a lot because she is desperate not to lose the family farm, but it doesn’t help that many businessesman want the property and also her sister is wanting to sell it.

While there is a romantic story, the main focus of the film is about Emily and doing all that she can to raise the money.  While I have seen holiday films that delve into the storyline of a family business being lost on Christmas and being saved by the Christmas spirit, and this film being similar.  What makes “CHRISTMAS A LA MODE” stand out is the fact that it’s dramatic.

Actress Katie Leclerc does an amazing job of playing a character that literally has so much going on.  The stress, the frustration and anguish that Emily feels, Katie Leclerc does a magnificent job of portraying that.

If you want a more of deeper and dramatic holiday telefilm, then definitely give “CHRISTMAS A LA MODE” a chance!
