With the 27th day of this Holiday Marathon, the next up is my second Candace Cameron Bure holiday film. Featuring the holiday queen when she was still doing work with Hallmark before leaving to Great American Family.
In this 2019 film, Lauren Gabriel (portrayed by Candace Cameron Bure) is a teacher who is looking forward to her new teaching job in Springfield.
As Lauren rides the train to Springfield, there is a delay and the train stops at Grandon Falls and those caught in the delay will have to stay in the small town overnight.
Needing help to get her bags around, she mistakenly thinks handyman Travis (portrayed by Tim Rozon) is the taxi guy.
But as Lauren stays in Grandon Falls, she finds herself caring about the small town and the people she comes across, including the children who were orphaned due to a major accident in a nearby town.
Will Lauren bypass her new job in Springfield to stay in Grandon Falls?
The holiday telefilm has a few parts in the storyline. One being Lauren trying to find where a broken angel that her father had given her as a Christmas gift, came from Springfield and how it can be fixed. The second is Lauren learning about the community through Travis and local bakery owner Betty (portrayed by Beth Broderick) and third, her relation with the children.
For the most part, we come across another film about one’s love for a town that celebrates the holiday spirit. I enjoyed the holiday film for its smalltown Christmas atmosphere and where many Candace Cameron Bure films with similar types of storylines, finds her character Lauren falling for the guy and then choosing to stay in the small town, in the case of “Christmas Town”, she falls for the town and wanting to be involved with the community who welcomes her with open arms.
But also Lauren being a person bounced through Foster families, giving hope the kids and I liked the aspect. It’s something when you watch, it’s kind of the positive vibe you receive of not just the character, but also Cameron Bure who is a spiritual person and no surprise why she has been the Hallmark Holiday Queen with many holiday films on oeuvre.
I enjoyed the film and I think you really can’t go wrong with a holiday film starring Candace Cameron Bure.
