While it may not be a Hallmark-esque quality type of Christmas film, I enjoyed “The Christmas Pitch”!

When two executives, Becca and William, at a top marketing firm in Chicago are sent to William’s hometown of Kringle Lake to rediscover the spirit of Christmas – they begin to find it, and more, in each other.
From “Zen Room” TV series director Layne Marie Williams comes the holiday film “The Christmas Pitch” written by Amy Tompkins and Nico Yan Yez.
The film stars Joseph Morales (“Colony”, “Wiener & Wiener”) and Alexa Maria Huerta (“Shameless”, “The Resident” and “The Chi”), the film revolves around two executives who are working on a Christmas project, but the two can barely stand each other, nor do they have the Christmas spirit.
So, their boss Mr. Kriss (portrayed by Sean Blake) decides to send them to Kringle Lake (where Joseph is from) to rediscover the Christmas spirit.
And the return to Kringle Lake is not super joyous as William (Morales) has not returned home or had much contact with family and has now returned all of a sudden.
And as Becca (Huerta) stays with the Dyer family, they partake in Christmas holiday events and eventually grow close to each other.
Interesting dynamic as Becca is a cut-throat executive,m while William Dyer is more of a have fun exec and for the most part, they are opposites.
Having found the magic of Christmas, “The Christmas Pinch” is an entertaining holiday film that may incorporate the usual two people don’t get along in one’s hometown, but they end up falling for each other storyline. But thumbs up for diversity being showcased in this holiday film! You have two Latino main characters and also a gay couple.
Granted, while we get to see more of William Dyer’s life coming out thanks to the dialogue with his family, it would have been interesting to know how Becca became what she is because it’s hard to believe that time with the Dyer’s and the Christmas changed her personality that easily. But then again, too much over-analyzing on my part, something you just don’t do with holiday films right?
For the most part, “The Christmas Pinch” is a holiday film worth watching!
