“Hot Chocolate Holiday” is probably one of the better holiday telefilms that I enjoyed, nothing too serious and deep. Just fun and and entertaining and I think people should give it a try!

It’s Christmas day (for those in the US, it will be tomorrow)! For day 50 we have the Lifetime holiday telefilm “Hot Chocolate Holiday” directed by Brian Brough (“Not Cinderella’s Type”, “Retreat to Paradise”) and written by Brittany Wiscombe (“Snow Beast”, “Austentatious”, “Beauty and the Billionaire”).
The film stars Aubrey Reynolds (“Love’s Portrait”, “Surrounded”, “The Baker”), Jonny Swenson (“Echo Boomers”, “Lights, Camera, Romance”, “Day Zero: The Series”), Kelsie Elena (“Saborrrr!”, “Faith.Hope.Love”, “Simmer”), Susan Phelan (“Start with Nothing”, “Riot”, “Grandpa’s Crazy?”), Dele Opeifa (“The Cate Morland Chronicles”, “Love’s Portrait” and more!
The film revolves around Colette (portrayed by Aubrey Reynolds), a cafe owner who is working to make her grandmother Thea’s popular hot chocolate to a mix that can be sold to stores nationwide.
At the local Christmas event, she is visited by Marcus (portrayed by Jonny Swenson), a business owner who is opening a dessert shop next door to her cafe.
The two eventually start talking more and it was a very good first meeting between the two.
But on the day of opening, while Marcus’ business goes well, Colette is shocked that Marcus hot chocolate tasted exactly like hers. Collette is not sure how that is possible, because hers uses a special recipe created by her grandma Thea.
And she is very upset and accuses Marcus of somehow stealing her recipe, which shocks Marcus because he has made that same hot chocolate since he was young.
Needless to say, this starts a rivalry as Colette feels threatened that Marcus has stolen her recipe, which he insist he hasn’t and that there two business are different and don’t rely on just chocolate.
But what happens when something bad happens to one of them and it brings them closer together?
For the most part, “Hot Chocolate Holiday” is the holiday romance telefilm which many look forward to and enjoy. Especially when there is a good dose of humor and fun and both characters have chemistry onscreen, which Aubrey Reynolds and Jonny Swenson do have.
“Hot Chocolate Holiday” is probably one of the better holiday telefilms that I enjoyed, nothing too serious and deep. Just fun and and entertaining and I think people should give it a try!
