Lucy Mortimer (Monique Coleman), and her mother Virginia (Kim Roberts) return to the Winterleigh Resort to help celebrate the hotel’s final Christmas season. Lucy is reunited with her childhood Christmas Dance partner, Barrett Brewster (Corbin Bleu).
If there is one holiday telefilm filmmaker that is high in demand, it’s Brian Herzlinger.
And I can easily say that among the holiday telefilms that I always look forward to, they are typically holiday telefilms with Brian Herzlinger as primary director.
But with “A Christmas Dance Reunion”, this time around, Herzlinger is not just director. He and his wife are also co-writers of this holiday telefilm. The second since their 2019 holiday telefilm “Twinkle All the Way”.
Now “Christmas Dance Reunion” is one that many fans of the “High School Musical” films will love, primarily because it reunites HSM actor Corbin Bleau and actress Monique Coleman. It’s hard to believe it’s been over 16 years since these two first starred in the popular musical trilogy, but now they are together, dancing again for the holiday telefilm “A Christmas Dance Reunion”.
The film features Lucy Mortimer (portrayed by Monique Coleman) returning home for two weeks for the Christmas season. This time, her and her mother Virginia (portrayed by Kim Roberts) celebrating Christmas without the family patriarch.
And when she finds out that the Winterleigh Resort, where she and her family would celebrate Christmas is closing down, she and her mother decide to go to the final Christmas event.
And when she stops by the resort, she is surprised to run into Barrett Brewster (portrayed by Corbin Bleau), a Broadway dancer, who’s uncle (portrayed by Roy Lewis) owns Winterleigh Resort and is there during vacation to give the hotel a proper goodbye.
As the two reminisce of the past, they come up with an idea to work together for the Christmas dance at the Winterleigh Resort. And the time together brings both Barrett and Lucy closer together.
If anything, I know that the reunion between Corbin Bleau and Monique Coleman would be a big thing. “High School Musical” may have taken place 16 years ago but these two were talented individuals played beloved characters back then and to see them together once again is fantastic!
And yes, their chemistry is even hotter, now that they are adults in “A Christmas Dance Reunion”.
But I have to say that part of the major plus of this film is when you have Brian Herzlinger as the director. The director is highly in demand for holiday telefilm work that he tends to direct the big productions (the other would be Melissa Joan Hart and her mother).
“A Christmas Dance Reunion” is a fun, Christmas holiday telefilm reuniting “High School Musical” entertainers Corbin Bleau and Monique Coleman. If you grew up watching these two as teens dancing and singing, you’ll enjoy these two in a romantic holiday telefilm.
