The One about the Akfix 100AQ Aquarium Safe Silicone Sealant

Unfortunately, when one purchases an aquarium, many learn the hard way that the sealant is never perfect. One will experience a leak, no matter how cheap or expensive an aquarium is, it happens (especially with more modern, cheaper aquariums).

So, it’s going to come to a time where you will need to reseal your aquarium (or get a new one which is more expensive).

There are many types of silicone aquarium sealants on the market, but I’m using the Akfix 100AQ Aquarium Non-Toxic Silicon sealant.

Akfix is one of the companies that specializes in adhesives and sealants. May it be for wood, for tile, home use, indoor/outdoor use, so this is a company that has been creating and specializing in this field for a very long time.

The 100AQ doesn’t release any harmful chemicals once cured. It’s 100% safe for fish and is non-toxic and it’s not too expensive at $12 for a single 9.5 oz.

It comes with a special spout and its easy to use but one maybe enough for use. Just remember to clean everything out and do tests in a safe area with water in the aquarium to see if there are any more leaks. If it holds up, you are good to put back your substrate and fish.

The Akfix 100AQ Aquarium Non-Toxic Silicon sealant is recommended!
