Since 1972, Aldo was founded by a man known as Mr. B (Aldo Bensadoun), who came from a family of shoe merchants, grandson of a cobbler sold shoes at his store in Montreal.
The company has grown since then to become a company which sells affordable shoes worldwide and has attracted a new generation of consumers thanks to their community driven effort on social media, especially on TikTok.

And today, I am checking out the ALDO Men’s Gladosen Oxford.
There is a slight faux pas that I found, the name shows as Oxford, while the description shows as Derby. There are differences between Oxford, Derby and Blucher shoes. Oxford has a closed no flap near the laces. For this one, ther eis that flap right in the corner, so essentially this Gladosen is a Derby Shoe, as the description shows. So, I will refer to them as ALDO Men’s Gladosen Derby shoes.
The shoes feature a tie shoe strings but really, these are slip-ons. You do not have to tie these shoes.
In fact, I feel these shoes compliment a melding of a derby dress shoe with sneakers, in this case, the color of Navy and I do like them.
Blue is not an easy to always find for shoes (blacks, browns, burgundy are easier) and for me, I wanted a combination of casual but you can also find ways to make it work with a suit, because it has a dressy component as well.
The shoe is round toe and features a 100% synthetic leather sole and is 100% Synthetic Textile.
Available in Cognac or Navy, I opted for Navy as I have a plethora of various shade of brown dress shoes.
While I’m not sure how much these shoes are at the moment, I do know for comfort and style, I do like these Aldo Gladosen shoes and it will fit nicely for my darker blue plaid shirts and chinos or blue jeans.
The ALDO Men’s Gladosen Derby shoes are recommended.
