Will the two different lives of Samantha and Prince Alexander and their parents prevent the two from being a couple? While the answer is a given, consider that all holiday telefilms end with a happy ending, it’s interesting to see how the story of “My Christmas Prince” plays out.

Samantha, a dedicated teacher in Manhattan, returns to her home town of Maple Falls, Wyoming every year for Christmas. This year, she’s delighted when her boyfriend Alex, a European diplomat from the tiny country of Madelvia, decides to joins her.
We have reached day 47, the next film I am watching is “My Christmas Prince”.
The telefilm is based on a story by Jeffrey Schenk and Peter Sullivan and is Directed by Sam Irvin (“Elvira’s Haunted Hills”, “Dante’s Cove”) and written by Hanz Wasserburger.
The film stars Alexis Knapp (“Pitch Perfect” films, “Project X”), Callum Alexander, Pamela Sue Martin (“Dynasty”, “The Lady in Red”, “The Poseidon Adventure”), Parker Stevenson (“Baywatch”, “The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew”), Marina Sirtis (“Star Trek: The Next Generation”), Jane Carr (“Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me”, “Blue Streak”), Charles Shaughnessy (“The Nanny”, “Mad Men”, “Days of Our Lives”, “General Hospital”), Tyler Clark (“The Heat”, “S.W.A.T.”, “Timeless”), Catriona Toop, Chelsea Gibson (“Hawaii Five-O”) and more.
The film revolves around Samantha Logan (portrayed by Alexis Knapp), a Manhattan-based teacher who is dating a diplomat named Alexander (portrayed by Callum Alexander), who came from the country of Madelvia.
As Samantha plans to go home to Maple Falls, Wyoming for Christmas to visit her family Sandra (portrayed by Pamela Sue Martin) and her father Jim (portrayed by Parker Stevenson), the family meet a the local diner.
When Alexander arrives later and joins Samantha and her parents, the waitress Heidi (portrayed by Chelsea Gilson) screams because royalty is at the diner. Everyone seems to be confused and Heidi explains that she is a big fan following royal families and she is shocked that Prince Alexander Theodore William Hendricks of Madelvia is in town.
This shocks Samantha who is just finding out that the man she has loved is a prince
Meanwhile, after Heidi posted a photo of the Prince with his girlfriend, Samantha, the photo reaches out to the royal family’s adviser Felicia Holst (portrayed by Marina Sirtis). King Frederick (potrayed by Charles Shaughnessy) and Queen Helena (portrayed by Jane Carr) orders Felicia to bring the Prince back, because they are not comfortable of him dating an American commoner.
“My Christmas Prince” is one of those films that you find entertaining, as the concept of an American commoner dating royalty and it being a storyline for holiday telefilms has happened numerous times. This one is rather fun because it does feature a solid cast, as we see the Queen trying to do all she can to make sure her son marries a woman who can one day be a princess. While, for Samantha’s parents, they are not so comfortable of her dating royalty, since she grew up so different from royalty and came from a small town.
Will the two different lives of Samantha and Prince Alexander and their parents prevent the two from being a couple? While the answer is a given, consider that all holiday telefilms end with a happy ending, it’s interesting to see how the story of “My Christmas Prince” plays out.
Entertaining and worth watching.
