I felt “The Santa Squad” is a holiday film that features wonderful Christmas decorations, the holiday spirit but most important showcasing the importance of family being together during the holidays. There are dramatic moments but if anything, I really enjoyed this film a lot and definitely one of favorite holiday telefilms to feature the family dynamic. I definitely recommend it!

Allie (Rebecca Dalton), an out of work art teacher, has to accept a job with the Santa Squad to help wealthy widower Gordon (Aaron Ashmore) and his two precious daughters rediscover the magic of Christmas. As Allie is lifting the holiday spirits of the family with Christmas decorations, cookies and shopping, her kindness is rewarded with the most unexpected of gifts: love!
For my latest holiday telefilm, which is day 23 of my holiday film marathon, I am checking out the Lifetime Television 2020 telefilm “The Santa Squad”.
Directed by John Bradshaw and written by Mark Valenti, the film stars Aaron Ashmore (“Veronica Mars”, “Killjoys”, “X-Men” trilogy), Rebecca Dalton (“Good Witch”, “Total Frat Movie”), Michael Therriault (“Reign”, “Heroes Reborn”), Hattie Kragten, Molly Lewis, Jayne Eastwood, Christ Sandiford, Roger Dunn, Paniz Zade and more.
The film revolves around Allie (portrayed by Rebecca Dalton) looking for a part-time job. Her good friend Tony (portrayed by Chris Sandiford) gives her a flyer for a seasonal job to be part of the Santa Squad, which brings Christmas to one’s home (decorating, activities, etc.).
Allie goes for the job and the family she would be responsible for the holidays is the Church family, which features busy, wealthy business owner Gordon (portrayed by Aaron Ashmore), who is a widower and has two children Rose (portrayed by Hattie Kragten) and Molly (portrayed by Iris).
Unfortunately, Gordon doesn’t have much time to spend with his children, and his assistant Daniel (portrayed by Michael Therriault) tells Gordon that he’ll have some time after the holidayus. Meanwhile, Gordon is dating the cold Kimmee (portrayed by Paniz Zade).
Immediately, while working at the Church household, she brings sunshine to the lives of everyone, especially Gordon’s two children, who bond with her, to the chagrin of Gordon’s girlfriend.
And even Allie is able to help Gordon get away from work for a bit, to assist his daughters to have some holiday fun. And when Gordon sees the children laughing and enjoying their time with Allie, he realizes this is the first time he has seen his daughters laugh like this since their mother passed away.
Meanwhile, Allie and Gordon start to grow closer.
I felt “The Santa Squad” is a holiday film that features wonderful Christmas decorations, the holiday spirit but most important showcasing the importance of family being together during the holidays. There are dramatic moments but if anything, I really enjoyed this film a lot and definitely one of favorite holiday telefilms to feature the family dynamic and it’s a feel-good holiday film that people will be entertained by.
I also liked what actress Rebecca Dalton brought to the film. Her role felt natural, as Rebecca’s portrayal brought the film to life!
Overall, I definitely recommend “The Santa Squad”!
