When college sweethearts, Corinne (Kyla Pratt) and Rob (Brooks Darnell), get opportunities on opposite sides of the world, they decide to part ways and meet again in two years on Christmas Eve to see if they are really meant to be. However, when one shows up and the other doesn’t, the fate of their romance seems to have reached the end. Many years later the two end up bumping into one another when they are both hired to help bring together a Christmas Eve wedding. With many questions left unanswered, they are about to embark on a journey filled with romance and magic, just in time for Christmas Eve.

For day 10 of my holiday film marathon, the next holiday film I will be reviewing is “Let’s Meet Again on Christmas Eve”.

Directed by Jeff Beesley and written by Carley Smale, who worked together in the 2019 holiday film “No Time Like Christmas”. This Lifetime Television telefilm stars Kyla Pratt (“One on One”, “Recovery Road”, “The Proud Family”), Brooks Darnell (“Shadowhunters”, “Total Recall”, “Bones”), Nancy Sorel, Paul Essiembre, Sara Luby and John B. Lowe.

The film revolves around a young couple in college who have been together for years, Corrinne Jane Milbrook (portrayed by Kyla Pratt) and Rob (portrayed by Brooks Darnell).

But when Corrinne finds out that Rob received an invitation to study in Italy for photography, she doesn’t want him to give up the opportunity. But for Rob, he doesn’t want to leave, because he doesn’t want to be away from Corrinne.

But Corrinne decided that he should go to Italy and if they really love each other, they would meet at the bench in Connecticut, where they often sit two years from that time. If they both show up, it’s meant to be. But if they don’t, then it’s not meant to be.

Fastforward seven years later, Corrinne is now an event planner for the Kirkland Agency, and her boss Victor has a big event project in which successful tech gurus, Sam and Nancy Bennet wants to renew their vows on Christmas Eve. And Victor wants Corrinne to be in charge of this event, but with the holidays, Corrinne tells him that she’ll only do it, if she becomes a partner at the Kirkland Agency.

When Corrinne meets with the Bennets, the Bennets tell her that they want to renew their vows in Connecticut and rented a retreat. For Corrinne, she hasn’t been to Connecticut since graduating and going to Connecticut gives her memories of her ex-boyfriend and her relationship that she has had a hard time getting over (thus, she has been keeping herself busy each year during the holidays).

When she gets to Connecticut, the Bennets tell Corrinne that they arranged a professional photographer to document every single moment of the planning of their renewing of their vows, and when she meets the photographer, to her shock, it’s her ex-boyfriend Rob.

Can Corrinne work with her first love of her life, the guy who broke her heart years ago? And why didn’t Rob show up in their planned reunion after he finished in Italy?

“Let’s Meet Again on Christmas Eve” is touching story, about a couple who truly loved each other, but due to circumstances, they broke up and didn’t get back together as planned.

Many years later, they now have to work on a major even together and for Corrinne, the job opportunity can elevate her to company partner, if she succeeds in hosting the perfect renewing of the vows event of Silicone Valley’s most popular couple, The Bennets.

And while it’s no surprise of how this holiday telefilm will end, what I wanted to see was the circumstances of why these two lovebirds have been apart and why the never met two years after they said they would meet each other again.

We also learn how much in pain Corrinne has been in and why the holidays have been difficult for her and why she pretty much works her tail off during the holidays and not celebrate.

If anything, “Let’s Meet Again on Christmas Eve” was delightful, touching and also a holiday film which embodies the words “hope” and “destiny”. I enjoyed this film a lot and its definitely one of the better Lifetime Pictures holiday films that you’ll watch!
