In the United States, there is always some busy street or avenue which people drive through, an area lined with shops or restaurants.
In Japan, specifically in Tokyo, a busy avenue which people drive through, but you will find more people walking to go for some high end shopping or restaurants is an avenue between Shibuya and Minato-ward known as Omotesando.
It’s not far from Harajuku’s Takeshita Street but it’s an area that I find myself going often.
It’s one of the few places in this world that I feel truly comfortable, day or night and quite often, I walk through this avenue to Aoyama, a wealthy neighborhood known for its fashion boutiques, shops and restaurants.
