Having driftwood is great for an aquarium.
For one, it helps maintain the ecosystem as having it in your aquarium helps promote the growth of beneficial bacteria. It also has natural tannins which helps make water a bit acidic (which helps increase available oxygen and prevent viruses) and it helps keep water at a lower pH.
While one can get driftwood from their local pet store, you can also order it online via Amazon.
And I am trying the majoywoo Natural Large Driftwood for Aquarium (9-14″ 2 Pcs).
These are larger pieces of driftwood that are sold as two pieces and is for aquarium use.
It’s important to know that you will want to boil or soak it in water for at least an hour as it will float until water is fully permeated to the branch. So, definitely boil it first and the company recommends boiling it three times (1 hour each).
I have one being used on a 10 gallon (recommended for a 20 gallon) and the other for my larger 50 gallon aquarium.
But overall, I do recommend the majoywoo Natural Large Driftwood for Aquarium (9-14″ 2 Pcs).
