The One about the Cha Wu FengQing DianHong Black Tea (Grade B)

The latest tea that I am drinking is the Cha Wu FengQing DianHong Black Tea (Grade B).

So, what kind of tea is this and how does it differentiate itself from other Chinese black teas?  Well, the tea from FengQing is processed with light oxidation and how it’s roasted produces a tea with some astringency and a floral sweet after taste.    It’s also a tea with a longer shelf life that many believe as it ages, it develops over the years.

The tea is harvested around the spring in the Fengqing area of Yunnan Province.  And DianHong Tea is typically a high-end gourmet Chinese black tea (Yunnan Pure Gold is known as the higher quality) and the color is brownish orange.  But this DianHong Black tea has a darker brownish orange (the darker it is, the cheaper the quality).

The version I am drinking this morning is the Cha Wu FengQing DianHong Black Tea (Grade B), so it’s obviously not the best version.  Cha Wu does offer Grade A on Amazon about $14 more.  With that being said, I do love the taste and aroma of this tea.

Sure, it’s not Grade A or the top of the line but it’s still good tea and I do recommend the Cha Wu FengQing DianHong Black Tea (Grade B).
