The One about the X-Sense Wi-Fi Smoke Detector

As more smoke detectors are now becoming more efficient, with lithium or rechargeable batteries (finally companies are getting away from those 9volt batteries), some manufacturers are looking for ways to make them practical for today’s society.

And in the case of the X-Sense Wi-Fi Smoke Detector, this smaller size smoke detector is rather unique in the fact that you can connect wirelessly to your smartphone.

As the device is connected via wi-fi, you can check on the battery power and receive notification if smoke is detected.

How it works out of the box is that you put the lithium battery (which lasts ten years) in (there is a flap which goes under the battery, you can pull it to release the battery – do not rip it off).  Meanwhile, look for the Tuya Smart app on the Google PlayStore or AppStore, download and create a new account.

Now log in and go to add device, add new sensor or smoke detector and then hold the device test button for three seconds.  The light will turn blue and it will be ready for pairing.  Just add your SSID and password to your Wi-Fi and then the app will detect the device and connect.

And that is it.

The instructions are straightforward, a test button is also on the device and can easily be mounted on the wall.  And If anything, it’s best to have a smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector around your house and X-Sense is well-known company for these devices.

I definitely recommend the X-Sense Wi-Fi Smoke Detector.
