The unexpected has happened, my family has been affected by the coronavirus.
It has been a difficult week and a half as my parents were hospitalized.
My mother went in and was diagnosed with COVID-19/Pneumonia and AFib and is on oxygen.
My father, he was hospitalized on Tuesday and he also has COVID-19/pneumonia. He’s currently getting a lot of oxygen. No need for ventilator.
My parents rarely go out but doing contact tracing, we are not sure if they got it from getting groceries or their last doctor visit.
Nevertheless, for those who have symptoms, please don’t ignore it. For those who have family members or friends who are hard headed and are too scared to get tested or get help and have symptoms, please be there for them, support them and let them know that you do care.
I’m grateful to my sister and her children for being there in getting them to the hospital and before that, checking their vitals, doing what they can to disinfect the house. Without their help, I don’t know what could have happened. But in doing so, they are also now also battling this virus.
For those wondering about if I had contact, the answer is yes. As I was there to tell my parents to go to the doctors. While I wore a mask and was six feet away, because they were positive, I made sure to get checked numerous times but had to retest due to an inconclusive test: The test(s) requested require serum that has been separated from the cells. We received either an un-spun SST (serum separator tube) or a plain RED-TOP tube unacceptable for routine chemistry testing. Any results obtained on serum not properly separated will produce results which must be carefully evaluated.
I have since took another test and am awaiting results.
For those who believe the positivity of prayer, please pray for my family. But please also pray for the other people and their families in this world who are battling this awful virus.
