For those wanting a small hydroponics tank on their desk or on the shelf, will want to consider checking out the KHTO Fish Tank Kit.
It’s a combination of a waterfall and a small thank. The tank is 11.8 inches in width and 4 inches in height and probably 2.5 inches in diameter. As you can see, it’s small and the waterfall will take a lot of the size.
The waterfall does work as it comes with a submersible pump which has a lever to control the power, so you will want to do prepare to do this, with some towels nearby or else the water will shoot out.
The ball is great to put in the light portion which helps extend the colorful lights and it also comes with a plastic plant.
The waterfall works very well but it does use about 35-40% of the tank. But again, for growing a semi-submerged plant with substrate include and planting it to the far side to grow it, it will work perfectly.
Again, the waterfall takes most of the space, but I wouldn’t mind putting a lucky bamboo place on it.
But what about fish?
First, let me say that this is a 3 liter (.7 gallon) aquarium, and I must say that the photo shows three goldifsh in this kit, which is not good. Don’t push goldfish in this small tank.
But let’s say you want to use fish. It’s really small for that. No fish would want to be confined to something that small.
But do I use it. Yes, for very temporary uses.
And that’s minus the waterfall.
It would be fine for a temporary tank for those wanting to use for fries in its early stage. You can add eggs and put it inside this tank and wait for it to hatch.
I have used it to separate a very pregnant guppy and put it in this tank as it’s bigger than a small birthing tank (which can stress out a guppy) and I have a USB pump, with a tube and add an airstone and works perfectly.
But my primary use is mainly an alternative medication tank.
I have put a guppy experiencing fin rot and used this as an isolation quarantine tank with a little aquarium salt and Melafix. Connected a USB pump, with a tube and an airstone and feed the guppy.
So, there are uses for this tank. But I would never use this tank for a permanent fish tank.
I would use the KHTO Fish Tank Kit as a small hydroponics tank, mating tank, birthing tank or quarantine tank that is to be used for temporary uses.
