The One about the Redragon K530 Draconic Wireless Mechanical Keyboard

For this latest gaming keyboard review, I take a look at the Redragon K530 Draconic Wireless Mechanical Keyboard.

Included with the keyboard: Keycap puller, key switch puller, user manual, replacement switches (I really appreciate this, if you accidentally spill soda on a single key you don’t need to replace the entire keyboard).

Physical Build Quality:
The keyboard itself is nice and heavy. It’s what you want in a quality mechanical keyboard – you don’t want it to weigh and feel like the Dell keyboards you’re given at a school or office job.

It comes with a detachable cable! YES! The cable is also… NOT MICRO-USB, IT’S USB-C! YAY! And the reason for this is because this keyboard has bluetooth.

Bluetooth:
The Redragon Draconic has Bluetooth 5.0, so the keyboard can be used wirelessly. On the side of the keyboard has a switch that goes between 3 options: B1, B2, and B3. You can switch between these to connect to either a computer, a tablet, or a smartphone.

The keyboard has a built in 3000 mAh battery so you can play wirelessly for hours on end.

RGB:
The feature of all gaming products nowadays – RGB. It’s here, and it’s implemented pretty well. This keyboard has backlit keys so the RGB blends well between keys. It can be changed within the keyboard itself using function keys or using the free software provided by Redragon.

Keycaps:
They are PBT. You know the disgusting shine that’ll appear on typical ABS keycaps such as on Dell keyboards? It doesn’t develop like that. It’s nice to have PBT keycaps.

Switches:
Outemu browns. Finally, Redragon offered something other than Outemu blues, because to be honest, I was tired of how flooded the budget mechanical keyboard market was with Outemu blues. These Outemu browns are clones of Kailh Box Browns, and they are really nice to the touch. These are categorized as tactile, they are quiet (at least for a mechanical keyboard, which is still louder than normal keyboards) .

I ended up beating my previous WPM record of 103, and getting 109 WPM with this keyboard.

Size:
It’s a 60% keyboard. I need to explain for a bit as there is a bit of misinformation out there.

When you use a keyboard larger than a 60%, it takes up more room. That means there is less room for your mouse and mouse mat. In competitive gaming, every advantage counts; the extra room can be the difference between hitting a 200 or 180 life or death in-game. You don’t want to run out of mousepad space. It’s the same reason XXL mouse pads that are 900x400cm exist. Mousepad room. Low sensitivity, which is objectively better (I won’t get into that) requires mouse room, which keyboards like these save.

Also, they are portable. That’s nice.

Despite not have the top row function keys, and other keys such as PRTSC, INSERT, DEL, etc., you can still use these buttons. For the function keys, instead of, for example, pressing F3, you’d hold down caps lock and press 3. It’s that simple. It’s not really an inconvenience, just adapt to it.

Price:
It’s $59.99 so i’m giving it a 5/5. You get a lot for what you’re paying. No complaints.

Overall, the Redragon K530 Draconic Wireless Mechanical Keyboard is fantastic! 5 STARS!!!
