The One about Ōfuna Kannon in Kamakura – Part 7: The Museum

When I heard there was a little museum inside the Bodhisattva Kannon at Ofuna Kannon in Kamakura, I expected it to be small.

Afterall, when visiting the Great Buddha, Kotoku-in in Kamakura, going inside of it, it was more or less feeling the interior of the bronze sculpture and seeing and feeling part of craftsmen history.

The interior is more or less where one can leave a message of mercy and peace, while looking at artwork done by children and locals of Bodhisattva Kannon and other things.

For me, this was one of the more uplifting but also moment where I felt it took a big weight of shoulders because I thought about friends and family members who passed, but my message for peace and mercy, I thought about everyone in general and wanting to pray for love and peace without so much suffering.  I know it’s a wish that may seem farfetched but it’s what I felt at the time and while I was writing in the notebook, I felt that my heart wanted these words to be written.

For tomorrow’s post, I’ll conclude with my thoughts about Ofuna Kannon!
