In China, Da Hong Pao (Big Red Robe) tea is a tea which is grown in the Wuyi Mountains. Of course, not all Da Hong Pao is equal. For one, the highest quality of the tea is one of the world’s most expensive teas.
The wealthy tea lovers are willing to pay up to $35,000 per ounce.
But of course, this is not the highest luxury quality but it is from Wuyishan City and offered by Luxtea for a pack of 10 tea bags (loose leaf).
Since I probably will not ever be able to spend that much on tea, I’m glad I can still have Da Hong Pao tea, whichever quality it may be and I have to say, it’s quite delicious.
It’s important to note that you want to use this in a carafe and if you do use it, do not drink the first steep or you’re going to get turned off by it. Dump the first steep then add hot water again and then drink again and again) may it be your second steep or the fourth from the same bag. Your preference.
I have no qualms about this tea, but I can’t compare it to the high-priced luxury tea version.
But I’m more of a pu-erh tea drinking guy but I do like Luxtea’s Da Hong Pao!
