The One about Yama Futatsu at Enoshima Island

At Enoshima Island is a location called “Yama Futatsu” (Divide between Two Mountains).

The location is a boundary dividing Enoshima Island in two.  And a theory is that over the ages, the tides have eroded the area along the geologic stratum and formed a large cave.  The cave collapsed and it resulted in Yama Futatsu.

One can find the reddish-brown layer behind the steps, down from the Samuel cocking Garden.  The loamy layer of the Kanto District, which is formed from the volcanic ash of Mt. Hakone and Mt. Fuji.

The location is no doubt serene and beautiful to look and I have to say from the top looking at Yama Futatsu and heading to the bottom area and seeing the surrounding environment, it’s a sight definitely worth seeing.
