The One about the Tokyo Christmas Illumination 2018 Part 11: Daikanyama T-Site Christmas 2018 (11/16-12/25)

Located in southwest Shibuya is the town known as Daikanyama.

The location is known for its elegance, may it be boutiques, cake shops, restaurants and cafes, but it was a town redeveloped after the end of the bubble economy.

While the origin of Daikanyma is not really known, may it be a location of an officer’s mansion to an area that was once a forest, but for the most part, the majority of Daikanyama is a quiet residential area filled with apartments, office buildings, restaurants and boutiques.

In the main shopping area of Daikanyama T-Site, one will see the Christmas illumination in the area.

The illumination is small (I wouldn’t go there just for the illumination), but it’s the atmosphere, the bakeries, art and its awesome bookstore that people love to come and visit. They also have live performances.

Some may call it a hipster town in Shibuya ward that has it’s own style compared to Shibuya, Harajuku but it’s a town known for its popular Tsutaya Bookstore (the Daikanyama T-Site Tsutaya Book Store is rated as one of the top 20 in the world), for its art, French bakeries (especially in the Terrace Hills across the street) and art/art galleries.

While the illumination is not huge, it does add a bit of Christmas-spirit to the popular shopping location!

NOTE: You can find the illumination near the Tsutaya Bookstore (Go north of it).
