The main building at Nezu Shrine in Bunkyo ward is the Honden (main hall) built in a ishi-no-ma-zukuri Shinto shrine style. While the honden can be seen from the outside, it’s not as easy to get a look at the haiden (worship hall) or heiden (offertory hall).
But in terms of aesthetics, one can marvel at the construction of the structure which dates back to 1706. And all three parts of the building were designated as Important Cultural Properties.
In tomorrow’s post, we will look at the areas surrounding the Honden.
