The One about My Classic Hollywood Photos 006: Mary Pickford in “Caprice” (1913), Laurel & Hardy in “The Second Hundred Years” (1927) and Western Heroes (Unknown)

It’s Sunday and that means it’s time for “Classic Hollywood Photos”.

When I was 19-years-old, I purchased and acquired hundreds of classic Hollywood photos from a retailer who wanted to pass his photo collection before he passed. For several decades, friends and classic cinema fans have asked me to share my collection and I decided for the purpose of identification, I’m going to start sharing photos in my collection.

The first photo is of Mary Pickford.

Mary Pickford will truly be a legend in the film industry because of her contributions not just for become “America’s Sweetheart” as an academy award winning motion picture star but she was one of the well-known faces when it came to moving images, silent films.

Mary also co-founded the film studio United Artists and one of the founders of the “Academy Motion Picture Arts and Sciences”. So, as a performer, producer and her involvement in the industry at the time, she help shape Hollywood. She was also one of the most powerful businesswomen in the world of all time.

A photo that I have of Mary Pickford is the one shown above. It is a reproduced image on 8×11, grayscale. But on the bottom it says “This is a Picture #2 of a Series of 6″. UPDATE: Thanks to Derek B. for identifying the still from the film “Caprice” from 1913.

A Laurel & Hardy photo in my collection. Laurel & Hardy in their 1927 silent short, “The Second Hundred Years”. I’ve seen this clip from “Kings of Comedy” but never knew the name until now. (Thanks to Jim Reid for identifying the photo).

The third photo is the following western heroes.  I still am unable to identify the following photo and what film it’s from.  But if anyone knows, please let me know!
