The One about the LEGO Speed Champions Ford Fiesta M-Sport WRC (75885)

Back in 2015, LEGO formed a partnership with three automobile manufacturers: Ferarri, McLaren and Porsche to create popular vehicles made out of LEGO’s.

The line would be known as LEGO Speed Champions and so popular the line, in 2016, they would add a partnership with Chevrolet, Ford and Audi.

In 2016, we saw the release of LEGO vehicles and sets featuring Ford, Ferrari and Porsche.

And here we are in 2018 with another FORD LEGO vehicle with the LEGO Speed Champions Ford Fiesta M-Sport WRC (#75885).

For those who follow rally sports will no doubt be excited for this release, considering FORD has two World Rally Championship titles and five rally victories back in 2017.

The car that is featured is the M-Sport Ford Fiest WRC car which won the FIA World Rally Championship Drivers’ and Manufacturers competitions, driven by Sebastien Ogler and co-driver Julien Ingrassia.

Of course, you’re not going to get the big Red Bull Sponsor featured on the car or minifigure but what LEGO was able to showcase, is still well-done. So, instead of Ogier’s car, it looks like the LEGO vehicle and minifigure are of the 2017 Ford Fiesta M-Sport WRC operated by Ott Tänak and co-driver Martin Jarveoja (both men are now with Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT).

First, let’s talk about the LEGO minifigure.

The minifigure is awesome as it has printing on the front and back. The front has the uniforms worn by Ott Tänak and co-driver Martin Jarveoja with the Ford, Castrol and Michelin logos on the right, to the MS-RT logo in the middle and the Sparco logo on the bottom right. You get a white helmet with visor and a wrench.

The vehicle itself is 203 pieces and again, I am having a lot of fun building the LEGO Speed Champions vehicles. A lot of engineering and creativity went into making this vehicle and the addition of the lamps on the front, which can be taken off and put a regular hood is an option. Even the hubcaps can be changed to one’s preference. And there are a lot of stickers to give the car that authentic look.
It’s easy to remove the top and add the driver.

I have to admit that I wasn’t sure how I would feel about building this LEGO rally vehicle because I was so into the Ferrari or Porsche vehicles, but making this LEGO Speed Champions Ford Fiesta M-Sport WRC (75885) turned out to be much more fun that I expected. In fact, one of the best LEGO vehicles that I have put together and the vehicle looks great!

Highly recommended!
