In my line of work, I often have to transport new PC hardware and I have used everything from carts, plastic or metallic.
And my favorite has to be the Rubbermaid Commercial products.
In this case, the Rubbermaid Commercial Products FG452089BLA Heavy-Duty Utility Cart, Lipped Shelves with Casters, 2-Shelf is appealing for its high-density structural foam construction. It’s durable, easy to put together and can hold-up to 500 pounds.
I. WHAT’S IN THE BOX
You get two shelves, four legs and four non-marking thermoplastic rubber swivel caster wheels with their designated screws (you get two extra screws).
II. PUTTING IT TOGETHER
All you need is a rubber mallet (or hammer) and a Phillips screwdriver (I preferred using a drill with a phillips screwdriver bit).
You attach the legs first to the top shelf and screw them down. Then you attach the other shelf (this is where the mallet comes in to make sure it goes down completely) and then screw that down and put the four wheels and attach the two screws and that’s it, you’re done.
It’s very simple to put together and you’ll be done within 20 minutes or less.
III. JUDGMENT CALL
So far, I have put so many things on top of this card and you can tell already by how durable this cart is, with its thick high-density structural foam construction.
According to Rubbermaid, the rubber swivel casters absorbs shock and they were definitely quiet.
The handle is adjustable-height and you can have it go flat or move it up. And the shelves feature rounded corners to protect walls and furniture.
The top shelf also features molded in storage compartments for holsters, hooks, notches and more. You can even put your thermos cup or drink in a molded section, which can be use as a cup holder or things to hold on to screws or other small items.
Durable, simple to put together and convenient…great for companies or anyone looking for a service cart that can hold up to 500 pounds and just works as expected.
