I have been wanting to get an outdoor camera that has better visibility than a door bell camera and so I decided to give the TIONTURE Wireless Outdoor Camera with 1080P Night Vision a try.
This wireless outdoor camera is easy to setup. First charge it. Download the VicoHome Security app for Android or iOS and wirelessly connect to the camera.
Then you can put it outdoors. It comes with four screws and its ready to go.
The camera can be controlled vertically and you have night light, white light to increase brightness, and it has an 1080p HD camera. You can create camera presets.
The wireless security camera outdoor can rotate its head 360° horizontally and 90° vertically, the surveillance camera has 110° wide angle presents great video effects and has a built-in 9000mAh rechargeable battery.
It’s important to note that it only supports 2.4Ghz.
If you have someone in the family who wants to add the VicoHome Security app and also view the camera, they just download the app and scan the QR code from the main user account’s app. It’s that easy!
I do recommend adding a mini-SD card so it can save videos.
Now the wireless outdoor camera works very well. But I do recommend adjusting the motion detection from time to time.
The reason is that we had a windy day and not sure if its the movement of the plants, the hummingbird feeder or even the wind chimes but at high and medium kept sending notifications every few minutes. So, we had to lower the sensitivity of the motion detector to low. Again, this is during a windy situation, so you can easily adjust depending on weather conditions.
I do like this camera, but there are a few things that I am concerned about. I live in a part of California that experiences the hottest weather and the foggiest, cold winters.
I am more concerned about the hot weather when it reaches 150F. I’ve seen plastics from my plastic bins or flower pots turn brittle to paper. And because this is heavy, I am not sure how this will do in continued hot conditions because the holder and the device itself is plastic.
According to the manufacturer, “the device uses a IP65 weatherproof design which can prevent dust and rain from damaging the outdoor wireless security camera. Even can work in the case of continuous heavy rain, snowy & hot summer”. Does that include the holder as well? I may consider trying to find a metal replacement. Not sure.
Considering its under $90, I can’t complain. I guess this will be a test to see how it will work in the hottest conditions. And also, how often I will have to recharge the device.
But overall, the TIONTURE Wireless Outdoor Camera with 1080P Night Vision is recommended!
