I have been using the Meeloog Polarized UV400 Sports Sun Glasses for fishing all week and I have to say that these sunglasses are awesome!
Often sold between $21-$27 (coupon price offered), these sunglasses come in black with blue mirrored lens, gray mirrored lens or green mirrored lens.
So, let’s break things down. What is polarized? So, polarized sunglasses use a chemical filter that blocks horizontal light waves, so it neutralizes harsh glare caused by sunlight reflecting off flat surfaces like water, snow and roads and improving visual clarity and reducing eye strain.
What is UV400? This is the highest standard for sun protection in eyewear that blocks 99% to 100% of harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Light is measured in nanometers (nm) and the UV spectrum ranges from 100nm to 400nm, so with these sunglasses being UV400 means it is the absolute barrier that blocks all UV light rays. UVB causes sunburns and photokeratitis (eye “sunburn”), while UVA penetrates deeper into the eye and contributes to long-term issues like cataracts. UVA covers both.
So, this is where things are so cool. For one, one time fishing during overcast, everything look good and full of color. But most of the fishing I do is in absolute sunlight, especially during the hot summer and when I put these sunglasses on, everything looks great. Remove them and the water is reflecting the sun like crazy. So, having these sunglasses during fishing have made it much easier to see what’s in the water, especially the fish.
While these are not a major brand name of sunglasses, the Meeloog Polarized UV400 Sports Sun Glasses are awesome! They also float and are secure with anti-slip. They also come with wipes and a glasses bag.
But they have now become my favorite Polarized UV sunglasses during my fishing sessions! The Meeloog Polarized UV400 Sports Sun Glasses are highly recommended!
