Typically with the buzzbait you have a jighook with the fish head and a silicone skirt hooked to a protruding metal wire and a propeller style blade. The blade rides on top of the water creating a loud clacking noise, splashing water and imitates an injured or swimming baitfish or frog.
This buzzbait is similar but instead a fishhead jighook, you have a frog. And instead of a single or treble hook, you get a double hook. You get the triangular metal buzz blade spins as the blade spins 360 for its rotation. You don’t get the longer protruding metal wire, nor do you get the opening bell or any bell clacking on the metal. So, without the clack, you get the splashing noise on the water surface. So, essentially what you have is a traditional hollow-body frog lure and a buzzbait in one.
With that being said, the scenario of using these in shallow flats and overcast, low-pressure days is interesting. These are top water and you get a gamut of colorful fishing lures in blue, pink, green, yellow and orange with mixed silicon skirts.
