The One about the linguang Fishing Rod Repair Epoxy Resin Gule and Thread Kit Complete Set

When it comes to fishing, when catching a fish that was hooked, some people may be holding the rod at an angle greater than 90 degrees (and some may point the rod straight up) and thus putting unnatural pressure on the tip. Or other improper landings, pulling to hard on tangled or snagged lines or somehow damage occurred.

But that doesn’t mean that your fishing rod can be trashed because you think it can no longer work.  But In fact, you can connect the broken tip and rod together with a repair kit such as the linguang Fishing Rod Repair Epoxy Resin Gule and Thread Kit Complete Set.

When you open the kit, you wiil see a few things inside such as the 1:1 Epoxy Resin (Part A and Part B), three brushes , 400-grit sandpaper (two pieces), heat-melt stick, binding thread and textured paper.

The first step is to get a good desk with maybe newspaper or something underneath, so you don’t get epoxy resin on top of a table.

First, take the sandpaper to remove any consisting epoxy on the rod.

Take the broken tip and the current rod and you are going to use the binding thread to wrap around the area.

Afterward, you would then take the two bottles of to mix A&B of the 1:1 epoxy resin. And you would use the brush to get the mixed epoxy resin and apply it on top of of where you added the binding thread and your tip will be sticking to the rod again. If you have the textured paper masking tape and noticed the break is where the guide is located, you can put the textured paper/masking tape to wrap around the rod, use the binding tape and reapply more epoxy resin.

It’s important to note that fishing rod repair kits can never bring your fishing rod to its original way before the tip broke and you can’t achieve 100%. But it’s still good enough to hold the tip to the rod together, so you can still utilize your rod as this kit will seal everything back together. But again, you can’t go back to its original sensitivity but still, you can repair and continue using your rod.

For the most part, I don’t break my rods and I try to be as careful as much as I can without having one broken on me. But unfortunate things can happen and it’s good to be prepared on how to repair a fishing rod with a broken tip.  But please do your due diligence as many companies offer fishing rod repair kits and they can each be very different from each other (ie. some that requires a rod to be inserted, some that don’t.).

Overall, I do recommend the linguang Fishing Rod Repair Epoxy Resin Gule and Thread Kit Complete Set and because it’s inexpensive, it’s also good to have a repair kit handy in your tacklebox. Just in case!
