The One about the Radioddity RH2 Cup Holder Radio Mount

When I last reviewed the last Radioddity Radio Mount, the RH4 clipped to a cars air vent. But relying on air vents is not exactly going to provide the greatest stability, you had to use lighter and smaller handheld transceivers.

Now I am back with another review but this time for the Radioddity RH2 Cup Holder Radio Mount and this one I do like. This is the type of cup holder than when rotated. the base then extends out to allow for a better grip on the cup holder and technically will provide enough stability for small to medium HT’s.

First, I will say I wouldn’t use this on a taller HT because the neck size of the mount is not that big.

So, if you have smaller devices like a Baofeng UV-5R related or GT-3TP, TIDRADIO H-3 or QUANSHENG UVK-5 (8) or UVK-6, this mount can hold it.

I then tested with medium sized HT’s such as the Baofeng UV-5G Plus, the Radioddity GC-5 and GM-30, Retevis A1 and RA79 and they worked perfectly.

But I wanted to test with a larger HT, the chunky behemoth, the Baofeng UV-25 and unfortunately the weight of the UV-25 could not be supported by the mount.

So, my opinion is that larger HT’s, defintely a no, but smaller to mid-sized HT’s are perfectly fine.

Also, because it is in a lower surface area, you can use larger antennas in your car, whereas the RH4 that clips on to your AC, because that is higher, you would have to use a smaller antenna.

But for the most part, I do like this cup holder radio mount. The stabilization is much better and for the most part, the Radioddity RH2 Cup Holder Radio Mount is worth checking out!
