I have talked (podcast) and wrote about my love/hate for Nintendo Switch joycon controllers and the amount of drift problems I have had in the past.
So, for the past several years, I have been reviewing third party Nintendo power controllers. so I wouldn’t have to use the joycons all that much and depend on them. Trying various ones to see if they will last longer than the others.
And the latest powre controller, I am reviewing is the Antstech Controller for Switch/Switch Lite and as the price shows of under $19, it’s because it’s not made for any other device or consoles, just for the Switch/Switch Lite.
No programmable buttons, but you get the LED lights and 4 adjustable vibrations and it does come with a 6-axis gyro sensor.
And the controller has a 6-axis gyro sensor and has a 800 mAh battery which lasts up to 12 hours. A full charge takes about 2.5 hours.
The controller also supports wireless bluetooth and wired connections.
I took my time reviewing this to see if the battery would go bad. I have had power controllers that would work great but the battery wouldn’t last all that long. So, after a few months of testing, this one has passed and does last up to 12 hours.
I will say that it’s interesting to have a power controller where the home button is not center but on the right (near the + button) but you’ll easily get used to that.
I have reviewed a lot of third party power controllers/wireless gaming controllers for the Nintendo Switch and this is probably the cheapest I have come across under $19. Usually they are somewhere in the $30’s. So, this is a pretty good deal if you are looking for a power controller for the Switch and have no need to use it on the PC or any other device.
The Antstech Controller for Switch/Switch Lite is recommended!
