The One about the Top 25 Video Game Songs of the ’80s (Japanese Poll)

I absolutely love Japanese video game soundtrack polls and one of my favorite polling places is AtWiki.JP who has been polling since 2009.

Of course, the rankings are subjective but it’s cool to see these pop up when they are conducted.

In 2013, they conducted a poll among Japanese gamers from January-March 2023 for people to vote their favorite ’80s video game song. While there are over 200 songs listed, we will cover the top 25.  Please note that the song titles are translated in English, unless the English translation makes no sense and then we’ll use the romanization.
