The Marunouchi Street Park 2023 Executive Committee (constituent organizations: Otemachi Area Management Association, Otemachi/Marunouchi/Yurakucho District Town Development Council, Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd.) is conducting a social experiment to examine the ideal form of plazas and park-like spaces in the city center.
“Marunouchi Street Park 2023 Winter” will be held on Marunouchi Nakadori and Gyokodori from November 28th (Tuesday) to December 25th (Monday).

“Marunouchi Street Park”, which started in 2019 and is now in its 9th year, transforms public spaces such as roads into high-quality spaces that are easy for area workers and visitors to “stay in” and “go around”. By doing so, we will create liveliness in the Daimaru-yu (Otemachi, Marunouchi, Yurakucho) area . In addition, as inbound tourists are showing signs of recovery after the coronavirus pandemic, the committee aims to create new scenery and experience value at iconic locations in Japan, and improve the visibility and international competitiveness of the street that stretches in front of Tokyo Station .
This time, with the concept of “Bright Street,” the committee will deliver unforgettable winter scenes for many people, with the aim of establishing it as a winter tradition in the Marunouchi area, just like last year. In addition to Marunouchi Naka-dori, the implementation of Gyukiyuki-dori, which connects Tokyo Station and the Imperial Palace, is one of the few examples of integrated use of public space, contributing to “walkable urban development” in places that are symbolic of Japan and Tokyo .
