Back in 1971, the Plymouth GTX muscle car was released.
Derived from the Plymouth Belvedere GTX (which was released from 1954-1970), this spruced up car had only fewer than 2,942 units produced, featured a 440 cu V8 engine (aka “Super Commando 440”) rated at 375 hp. And you can also get a Chrysler 426cu in Hemi (7.0L).
A heavy duty suspension system was standard and the car would gain popularity as the character Dominic Toretto would drive it in “The Fast and the Furious” eighth film, “The Fate of the Furious”.
And the die-cast version has been released by Hot Wheels and also received the Hot Wheels Premium treatment for Mattel’s “Fast & Furious” release.
For the most part, what makes this a premium release can be seen through the glossy piano black body with double horizontal white stripes. Awesome wheels with brown rims and rubber wheels. Details for lights, GTX logo and solid detail, this is a Hot Wheel Premium that I really liked!
Glossiness and black, definitely your fingerprints are going to show. But for the most part, this is a sleek vehicle that I truly feel is one of the highlights of this series release.
Definitely recommended!
