The KATO Pocket Line Series, a series designed to showcase N-Scale trains trams and smaller trains for those who don’t have much room in their home but still want to get involved in trains. And it’s a perfect solution for modelers who are beginners or are experienced.
And it’s great for those who want to integrate a compact tracks in their diorama setup.
The series has become so much of a success that the trains themselves have become collectibles and very hard to get their hands on or demand has made resellers increase the price for them.
While we hope KATO will continue these releases, fortunately that have continued with tram/railcar releases, back on October 2022, they released their KATO 10-504-3 Chibi Convex Country Town Freight Set (Pocket Line Series)
Now this freight set was available in Japan with three colors with Black, Blue and Maroon.
The main Chibi Convex Train comes with a coreless motor, with a pantograph and the roof is gray and while the lamps do not light up, they are red. You also get a two Little Freight Car x2. One that looks like a miniature steel version of the Tora 45000 (which was used in the early ’60s in Japan) and the other that looks like a hybrid Caboose/Tora.
Like all trains and trams in the Pocket Line series, they work on both KATO and TOMIX tracks flawlessly. But because the wagons are so light, if it derails, the wagons would fly out for a major collision. Granted, put a dime or penny in there and it would give a little weight to the wagons. But they do run on both tracks and run even better on the KATO Unitram tracks.
