For those looking for an indoor or outdoor security camera, the Alphahom Wireless WiFi Security Camera is worth considering.
The camera is quite easy to use as it just requires to charge it and pair it with the app. And what makes it different from other cameras is its magnetic holder, so you can either place the base underneath the camera, so you can place it on a shelf or windowsill or behind it and mount it.
Also, this makes it easy to rotate the camera and that gives you 120 degree rotation vertically and horizontally which is a plus.
The camera also provides HD video in color and night vision and has H.265 encoding, 1080p and 135 field of view.
As for the app that is used, it uses its proprietary Alphahom app which you can add more cameras if needed. You can purchase prime services for cloud backups but you can also add your own SD Card as well to the camera (SD Card is not included).
While I do like the camera, there are aspects of the app that I feel the Alphahom has less capabilities than its competition of similar price range. But I do like how there is night vision, mic and speakers to communicate, but I do wish there was a white light mode (there is IR-Cut Mode).
Fortunately the camera does have motion detection and you can set it from high to medium and low (especially if you have shadows or trees). It also has an alert mode via system notification or alarm notification (you can also set it to no alert).
For the most part, I really do like the Alphahom Wireless WiFi Security Camera and if you want to add more Alphahom security cameras to the app, you can do that.
I also feel the magnetic mount is rather cool for those who want to use it for outdoor or indoor and have the ability to rotate the camera to whichever angle one prefers.
While I wish the app offered more features similar to competitor in a similar price range, it’s still a solid app.
