Having used silicon covers on my Quest 2, I decided that due to performance issues I was having, I was going to go without it. Also, many people chimed in and felt silicone covers made their Quest 2 overheat.
While I have never had overheating issue (as I don’t stay on it for many hours), I do want it to be protected, and so I went with the METORY Transparent Front Protective VR Scratch-Resistant Shell.
Much easier to use. Just clamp it in and it stays in place. No need to worry of sliding silicone obstructing the camera lens, everything stays in a fixed position and it provides protection for the front area.
Granted, for those of you who eat and have oily or dirty fingers (or children who may, and uses your Quest 2), this is not going to protect the top, sides or underneath your Quest 2 but still, it provides the front with added protection.
At under $20, it may be pricey for some, who are used to getting all that and touch controller covers in one set, but for me, it’s well worth it for the simplicity and less worry of silicon covers slipping and obstructing the camera.
